ACT II

SCENE 3:Courtney's driveway. A gravel-paved driveway leading to the kitchen door of a small beige house. To the left is Courtney's yard with green grass and an oak tree, and the right is cut off by a hedge wall. Courtney's town. A suburban area like Athens, New York. Courtney looks the same but this time with a backpack (NOT wheely). Brad is wearing loose jeans as is the style and a shirt of any type and color.

COURTNEY grabs her bookbag and runs out the door, still clutching the newspaper article.

COURTNEY crashes right into BRAD and almost falls over, dropping her bookbag and newspaper.

BRAD helps COURTNEY up and greets her with a kiss on the cheek. They start walking to school.

COURTNEY: Brad, I was just looking for you! Did you see that newspaper article?

BRAD: Yeah I did. That was sad, what happened to that Eliza girl.

COURTNEY: It's supposed to be a mystery, what's under the zombie's hood, that makes it able to kill its victim so easily. What do you think it is?

BRAD: Zombie brains? I don't know.

COURTNEY checks her watch quickly.

COURTNEY: Oh, I'm late! Meet me by the newspaper stand after school.

BRAD: See you there!

COURTNEY and BRAD and walk in different directions because they go to different schools.

Camera shows COURTNEY walking to school for a few seconds. Camera suddenly switches to show COURTNEY going into a door near a sign that says "Watson Academy for Girls."
