Welcome to my lyrics page! I have an obsession with Romanian music so here you'll find the lyrics and translations to the music of a number of different groups. Yes, I do this for fun. Yes, I know I have no life.
About the lyrics: It annoys me to no end when I Google the lyrics for any song and I find it and ... it's wrong. And there are some VERY bogus translations around, and some are just nonexistant. I've decided to put my own translations on the internet in case someone else has ever Googled for the English translation of any of these and found ... so many wonderful lyrics pages, but no translations. In conclusion, these lyrics and translations are as correct as I could possibly make them without having written the song myself. I have listened to them to check the lyrics are right and all the translations are my own.
I know that Romanian doesn't have the same phonology as English and reading these words and trying to match them to the songs will not at first seem right to most English speakers, but please believe me when I say I did my homework on this because I'm actually rather proud of this. Also, a few of these artists or groups are from Moldova and therefore have an accent/dialect which totally throws even me sometimes. In fact, there is controversy about whether or not Moldovan is a separate language in itself from Romanian.
So when I have (Moldovan) after an artist, it means that their songs are in this Molodovan language/dialect and not necessarily that the artist is from Moldova, and when I don't put it, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are Romanian. My favorite group O-zone, for example, was Moldovan, but they sang in Romanian.
